Oh, it was delicious and made the house smell wonderful. I put the mushrooms in with the consomme and added a cup of mixed vegetables. It's a big pot and even with a gas stove it takes some time to bring it to boiling. And I have a couple of quarts left over in the frig. I added some tomatoes and corn to pad it out into soup last night. Okra would have been nice but I didn't have any.

JEG43, you can sub in whatever kinda meat suits your fancy. I've done a version of this using leftover pork roast.

Turk, how long did it take to make the stew? Thirty minutes is about the absolute minimum for me.Roberta Xhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09956807794520627885noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5837660608809488753.post-53016389582138995412008-03-08T07:13:00.000-05:002008-03-08T07:13:00.000-05:00ohhhh. . that sounds good. . especially with the c...ohhhh. . that sounds good. . especially with the cold, icy and all we've had.

Sounds even better than my lunch at Yats.. and that's pretty hard to beat.LBJhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17795791180696109276noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5837660608809488753.post-2295067413046989902008-03-08T02:24:00.000-05:002008-03-08T02:24:00.000-05:00It sounds good, but if'n you are usin the cheapest...It sounds good, but if'n you are usin the cheapest stewin bef available, it likely comes from a part of the critter what does quite a bit of actual work.
