But wrap the thing in aluminum foil and the chances of survival improve by several magnitudes. Drop the package in an ammo box with the strike anywhere matches and survival odds increase again. <br /><br />Even a typical transistor ham rig can be hardened with a bit of thought. Remember, an EMP attack is just a very rapid change in magnetic flux.
