They are all useful. But some tools only work on some platforms.Roberta Xhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09956807794520627885noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5837660608809488753.post-47724012453752110742020-01-14T10:22:40.498-05:002020-01-14T10:22:40.498-05:00Roberta, just because you have some very good reas...Roberta, just because you have some very good reasons for not converting to *nix doesn't mean we'll stop proselytizing. While I like Linux, Scrivener won't run on it and I have yet to find anything like Q10. It has interoperability issues with Dropbox. Office Libre does okay across all platforms except the iPads.

Scrivener runs -- and will share projects -- across Windows, Mac and iPads. All of them will use Dropbox to share those files. The *nix boxes can't.
Roberta Xhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09956807794520627885noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5837660608809488753.post-60973460088596521322020-01-13T20:10:42.121-05:002020-01-13T20:10:42.121-05:00If things are going downhill, there is probably a ...If things are going downhill, there is probably a reason. Get a copy of SpinRite and see if your disk drive is having problems. (You might know someone who has one, or it is worth having a copy of your own in the long run.)

Failing that, I find that older PCs work better with Linux than Windows.
