My car got T-boned on the way to work. A person driving a similar SUV came off a highway off0ramps, ran a red light and plowed into the driver's side of my car. Her airbags deployed; mine didn't but the driver's-side door is dented and sprung. It moves under its own power but it's not street-legal (can't open the door!) and it's probably totalled.
The car that hit me was a rental. Enterprise. My past dealings with them have not left me with a good impression of the company.

ReplyDeleteIt's a big inconvenience and a PITA, but in the end it's wrinkled metal. The important thing is, how are you doing?

ReplyDeleteI had a very similar accident some years back, some kid took off across traffic lanes coming out of bank during rush hour and plowed into my pick-ups drivers side door. It was fun climbing over the center console between the bucket seats (oh what I would have gave for my old truck's bench seat!) every time getting in and out of truck. I swear I could hear 'Yakkety Sax' song when that occurred.
Hope your insurance adjuster is a good one.

ReplyDeleteHope you only got sprung up - nothing broken. Sounds like you were lucky - did the police cite the other driver? Are you in a no-fault state? Seems as if that helps - less dealings with insurance companies.

Hopefully it will not aggravate any of your existing conditions. Rental companies can be a real pain to deal with. If you had full coverage on yours engage them and let their lawyers deal with it.
