BUT there are limits to it, as the actual pot gear is tiny and hidden.

Old Grouch, Crucis: pretty new stuff, actually, and it's standard for some segments of the industry. It cannot be replaced with a fixed resistor, as it tells the controller the rotation position of a particular, important, variable dololly (through a little reduction gear). One must find the limits and tell the controller, "Never go lower than n or higher than m and if some tells you to, when you get there, stop and yell for help." But n and m are numbers we don't know 'til we get to 'em. If they are close to the physical limits of the pot and one happens to got a few degrees too far, cruncho!Roberta Xhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09956807794520627885noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5837660608809488753.post-91261963851068961502010-06-18T16:51:04.415-04:002010-06-18T16:51:04.415-04:00Hope you feel better soon, Roberta!Hope you feel better soon, Roberta!Josephnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5837660608809488753.post-65231428336718932092010-06-18T16:14:13.912-04:002010-06-18T16:14:13.912-04:00Or, perhaps, once the pot is set, measure across i...Or, perhaps, once the pot is set, measure across it and replace it with a fixed value.
