....It appears that having a social life and major blogging are not entirely compatible endeavors -- but it's certainly fun to try!
Still to come, the year-plus retrospective. It's been a busy year; I've got a lot of ground to cover. Three cars, knee surgery, a major death in the family, buying a house-- Not to mention starting the blog and meeting many new friends!

I just got my right knee scoped for the second time to fix my ACL for the second time...
My dad just got his left knee scoped to clean up a cartilage tear, etc...
You just started your blog this year too? I had the feeling you were a vet at this....
Kinda changes things a bit, doesn't it?
Less, I had some cartilage scraped up and ssanded down; when they fixed my knee after my motorscooter wreck, they missed the damage; when it became a problem, the surgeon had to go back in.
Teach: define "this" and I can give you an answer! New to blogging, yes. On the other hand, I have been writing since grade school and I was on (dial-up) BBSes from '87 onwards; started on e-mail reflectors sometime in the mid '90s and got onto gun and libertarian-politics (internet) BBSes not too long after. Dropped 'em, too: I didn't like the arguments with yammerheads on the BBSes and the reflectors (ham radio stuff) had too much traffic to keep up.
...Which may all leathedth unto today's essay du jour of the day, if it jells. I need some persimmions....
