Here in the Heartland, don't try to rob the IGA! Please note the complete lack of "citizens shouldn't try this" in the report. You don't mess with people's grocery stores, you just don't; our cookin' may be plain but we're not about to miss meals for the asymmetrically entrepreneurial, okay?
(Thanks to the handsome and courageous Turk Turon for the link!)
Why, you're welcome! And thank YOU for the kind words.
ReplyDeleteI spotted a link to that story from another channel, but I knew I dared not forward the link, as you had a strong preference for the peacock-channel. So I cast about until I had the appropriate carriage thereof.
Sounds like that dude, with an unloaded gun, was in the IGA at the same time I was in the Kroger with seventeen rounds. Story says the good guy racked the slide to impress the malefactor with his sincerity. Not necessary if you're in Condition One with "Simplicity Jane"!
Whattaya say to an idiot like that? "Drop the gun and I'll let you plea-bargain!"
We do not discuss the peacock here. :)
ReplyDeletePublished/broadcast reports are unclear about what the good guy was carrying, possibly a revolver, which makes his cocking the gun a bit scarier -- for the baddie!
Roberta,
ReplyDeleteMy email address is mfree@warped.com. If you're up for it, I have one hell of a puzzle for you in the form of a 71 year old radio that's doing... er, suboptimal things.

ReplyDeleteI bet Dwain thinks thrice before a repeat performance. Bravo for "Charlie"!
ReplyDeleteThat story made me feel all warm and toasty! Here's to happy endings.
