What I said about my knee this morning? Wrong. Whistling past the orthopedic specialist, even.
Oh, it felt better, all right. But it started aching again in the course of my morning ablutions and primping, or whatever it is I do between coffee and leaving that takes so much time for such little result.
Stayed pretty steady on No Fun 'til I had to work on my knees with my head stuck inside a huge, awkward piece of starship equipment, swapping out a circuit board: went to stand up and realized my knee was not wanting to straighten out.
Managed it and moving helped, but this blamed knee is not right. And I don't have time to fool with it right now. Having to gimp around puts me in a remarkably vile mood, everything takes half again as long if it requires any walking and some things I just can't do at all.
So here I lay all ibuprofened up, blogging from bed with the cyro-cuff running. Hey, at least I've got that gadget!
I'm sorry to hear that your knee is giving you problems. I wish you a speedy recovery. Have you tried some of the joint supplements. I use one called Joint Synergy that seems to keep all of my damaged joints in good shape.
ReplyDeleteHaving been through the knee surgery now three times I can tell you: I feel your pain. At this very moment, in fact. Take care of it.
ReplyDeleteI use scrip strength naproxyn. Works pretty well for me. Causes stomach issues if you're not careful. Cryocuff has to help- but i also have a gig that requires a lot of kneee-time. Feel best soonest, I hope.
Sorry to hear about your pain. Life is just naturally tough enough without stuff like that. Will include your situation in daily prayers.
ReplyDeleteAll The Best,

Take care of Roberta; let the starship run on autopilot for a while.
ReplyDeleteFeel better soon. We are sending rain eastward to help out?? :)
ReplyDeletePS How is MomX doing these days?
ReplyDeleteMom X is quite well indeed; she recovered fully from her misadventure and has shown no signs of it happening again. She finds herself understandably reluctant to travel by air, however.
ReplyDeleteThanks to everyone who is thinking good thoughts, etc. It doesn't do any harm.
Sorry about the knees. As another chronic knee pain sufferer, I'm probably due for a left knee replacement in another 10 years or so. And I'm pretty sure I've torn a tendon or something in that knee as well, as kneeling on it results in excruciating pain most of the time.
ReplyDeleteThe cryocuff sounds interesting.
Anyway, hope you feel better soon. It can't be any fun to stump around in that brace you had on last Sunday. Although the cane has possibilities -- I have always aspired to be one of those curmudgeonly old men shaking my cane at those durn kids making a mess of my rhubarb.
Well, on second thought, maybe not shaking the cane so much as pointing the Winchester Model 24. Eh. Details.
Sending good thoughts your way, beautiful. Hope the knee gets better, soon.
ReplyDeleteOur daughter fell while running six years ago. The doctor coundn't find anything specific wrong. Her knee has given her problems ever since. About a month ago a friend who is a PT took a look at it. Her kneecap was almost an inch out of place. The PT moved it back and taped it. Had her stay off high heels and avoid running for two weeks. So far, no problems.
