AUGUST BLOGMEET!!
This coming Sunday, 9 August 2009, Broad Ripple Brew Pub, 3:00 p.m.
Update: Farmer Frank confirms, adding he'll have a pickup truckload of sweet corn!
Last word had it that Farmer Frank W. James will be there, bringing his surplus sweet corn -- don't miss it!
(Time changed to keep this post at the top. Latest installment of I Work On A Starship below!)
Also, looks like Eagle Creek Park Pistol Range will be open from 0900 - 1300 Sunday, so let's try another informal BlogShoot!
I'll be sure to wave in your general direction as I drive by on my way from Ohio through Michigan on my way home to the Pacific NW.
ReplyDelete(Sigh.....)
I have received permission from the Gracious One on High (otherwise known as my wife) to attend this function.
ReplyDeleteNot that I wouldn't have anyway, but peace in the house is always nice. :)
Uncertain if I'll be back from Michigan in time to attend. If not, I'll be there in spirit!
ReplyDeleteDude, if Frank confirms, you'll want to send a representative. With a grocery sack.
ReplyDeleteI don't even eat corn and I'm bringing a sack or three. My mother will thank me later.
ReplyDeleteBesides, I owe Frank some cookies.
It's a GO for sweetcorn this Sunday. I haven't posted on my own blog today because my wife and I are elbow deep in putting corn up for our freezer....it's our vegetable of choice for the winter.
ReplyDeleteGood news/bad news: the 65 day stuff is great, the remaining two rows of 75 day is not as good, decent just not Great, but I will literally be bringing a pick-up truck load down to Indy. Make sure and bring plenty of bags for you and everyone else.
Joanna: Are they oatmeal? I like oatmeal, no raisins.
I'm going to post on my blog tonight our entire production process, complete with recipe and photos, for those who want to put a bunch up in their freezers like the James household does each year. It carried us through the entire year when we put it up last year.
All The Best,
Frank W. James
I was going to make this recipe, but I can definitely take requests.
ReplyDeleteDang the bad luck. I'm going to be in Oklahoma. I'm going to miss Frank and the sweet corn too. Y'all have a good time, and floss afterwards!
ReplyDeleteThe old Eagle Creek trick again... eh?
ReplyDeleteHmm, Iggle Crick...I have to go babysit a computer for an hour or so at 8AM Sunday, but I may drop by on the way home.
