Roseholme Cottage's Anthem
Tam just showed it to me and the vote was unanimous: Very Edward Gorey, no? No -- Shel Silverstein. You might enjoy his rendition. Extraordinary! (You may also be surprised just how much of his work you have heard and enjoyed).
The Muppet Show could be viewed on SO many levels. Kids, teens, adults and perverts could all get something out of every show. And God bless Sir Lew Grade (aka "Low" Grade) for giving Jim Henson free reign to do what Jim wanted.
I wonder how many other people have an LP of "Freakin' at the Freakers Ball".
"Sarah Cynthia Sylvia Stout Would Not Take The Garbage Out" was a nice poem, but "Don't Give A Dose To The One You Love Most" was kinda fun too, in a sick perverted way.

I am so frightened right now I may lose control of some rudimentary bodily functions.
ReplyDeleteYou said if I made you some Reuben sandwiches you'd let me out of the basement. So... how about it?
ReplyDelete(blogging from the basement)
Awesome!
ReplyDeleteCan you imagine the flooding caused by the Bedwetters' League if they ran that on TV today?
Now I'm going to be erupting in hysterics at random at work tomorrow, and my co-workers will probably think I'm a little strange.
Well, a little moreso, anyway.
Jim
Yes.... I can see it.
ReplyDeleteNow, I would really like to know the wander that led to this. Was it Tam's new set of Muppets?
Yep! She remembers the song fondly -- and so did I, once I was reminded.
ReplyDeleteI can *so* see you two singing that now.
ReplyDelete... it's kind of cute, in a creepified sort of way. :)
We used to watch the Muppets all the time. Favorite show of my High School graduating class, post High School.
ReplyDeleteOf course, we were from Detroit...
Don't remember this episode, but Marty Burke used to sing it at the Fiddlers Green Pub in Ypsitucky Friday nights, between "Damn The English" songs.
I am so going to teach that to my grade school age nieces.
ReplyDeleteJust when I thought I'd seen all of the Muppets episodes. I think that one is going into rotation around here.
