We did go up and see Mom; she was on a ventilator, still under and had an impressive collection of IVs. Her day-shift nurse is one of the impressively fit, hyper-competent young men one encounters (sometimes) in nursing, the sort of guy that had the balance tilted a bit away from nurturing instead of towards it might have been a policeman or a Marine.
Word was she'd be vent-tubed and out of it for a long time, so I stayed awhile, went home, ate, laid down "for just a minute" and slept for five hours.
I'll go back up in the early morning.
Your Mom should be out of it for a while , I know I was. Please get some rest Roberta X, You deserve it.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you're both getting some rest. I appreciate your keeping all of we informed, but I think we'll be ok with no news being good news!
ReplyDeleteJim
Thoughts and prayers for her and you.
ReplyDeleteMy best wishes for a speedy recovery.

Expect a very much in pain and out of sorts Mom in the morning. But it is reasonably certain that she will get over the pain and be a much improved version of the old Mom in a few weeks.

Remember to take care of yourself, too. My thoughts and prayers ar with you both.
ReplyDeleteGlad things are going well. Keeping y'all in our thoughts and prayers.
ReplyDeleteWe're both eeping you both in our thoughts and prayers....
ReplyDeleteArriving late here. Glad to hear that the surgery and post-op has gone well. Best wishes for a speedy and easy recovery.
ReplyDeleteMy uncle had heart valves replaced about 25 years ago (mechanical so he's been on anti-coagulants since) and he's still going strong.
You are both in my prayers. If the weather gets to crap and you need a four wheel drive to get out, just call.
ReplyDeleteGlad everything is looking good. And, as others have said, don't forget to take care of yourself.
ReplyDeleteI helped my partner through a triple bypass. The doc told me to do one thing, stay healthy. He was saying I'd be really active in helping her recover
ReplyDeleteand thats how people get sick themselves.
Good luck to Momx, and get your rest.
