One of the problems being that Mourdock (who is thinking about running against Lugar) is just as bad. They keep trying to make him look like a Tea Party guy and he isn't.
I called Lugar's office at the beginning of this session and told him that if he didn't stand up for fiscal responsibility, then that was it. He caved, of course. Mr. Assault-Weapon Ban needs to go and no last-ditch efforts to look conservative (per the flyer I got the other day) will not erase the last 36 RINO years.
Mourdock doesn't impress me much, either, though he does offer one very powerful virtue: he isn't Dick Lugar.
Maybe I should see if LP-IN would let me run for the damn job. Or maybe the Democrats will suffer some kind of brain fade and run a decent person with an actual spine for the Senate seat.
However things go, The Honorable The Richard Lugar does not get my vote.

I had a rather interesting extended correspondence with Lugar's office (and eventually the idiot himself) several years ago, when I lived in Indianapolis. I sent the boy an email today to tweak his memory a little.

Roberta:
ReplyDeleteOn yer worst day you could beat Lugar's best. I'd vote for you.
But seriously, Lugar is pushing the "I'm conservative" meme....and it ain't true and few will buy it.
I'd sooner vote for the south end of a northbound horse.....Not that I could find much difference between that and Lugar.
The only thing Mourdock has that is good is that he iswn't Lugar. Likely be as bad or worse, but at least it'd break up the "power broker"(ing).
I'd just as soon see 'em all somehow incapacitated or tossed and start fresh. We'd be good for a few years. Power corrupts.
I completely agree that Mourdock's best asset is he's not Dick Lugar.
ReplyDeleteI'd take just about anyone over Lugar and I hope to see this 'change'...
All The Best,
Frank W. James
The only thing worse than a TSA endorsement is to have BHO campaign for you.

Lick Dugar has been around since before I was born, and I was the headwaiter at the Last Supper. Throw the bum out.
ReplyDeleteMs X; Outside of broad Ripple, most hoosiers can't spell libertarian, let alone find it on a ballot. But I'd vote for you.
I could change my name to "Not Obama" and get elected to any office in the land, I think, right now.
Lugar also promoted the 90% of Mexican crime guns come from the US lie.
