In order to be a Good Samaritan, somebody's got to already be layin' in the ditch beat half to death when you happen by.
The Samaritan had better sense than to go following potential or possible beaters. Guys who do that are more akin to the folks in Matthew 6:5, prayin' on streetcorners, hopin' their Good Acts will be noticed.
Ah, you made me whip out the Bible handed to me oh, back in 1980. KJV. Yes, hypocrites all. So be it.
ReplyDeleteAnd so very true.
Well said!
ReplyDeleteWithout a doubt, Zimmerman woulda been better off staying w/ his vehicle, simply observing. If approached, pull off. that bein' said, I'm waitin' on the charges of reckless endangerment for all the adress tweetin' and bounty-posting on a man who's not running, going through the system. ReplyDeleteI was under the impression that the whole Neighborhood Watch thing got started because the police are minutes away when seconds count.
ReplyDeleteIt went wrong this time, but just how many times has it gone wrong like this?
So if some town has a Neighborhood Watch program set up, anyone volunteering is, by definition, what you describe as "waiting for their Good Act to be noticed"?
I guess I could point and make a snide, unselective crack about an entire body of people, but I sort of thought Neighborhood Watch, while not my thing, was, being unpaid for by taxes, more libertarian than having enough sworn officers to take their place.
"Sheesh", at you madam, "sheesh" I say.
