On this day in 1961, FM multiplex stereo broadcasting is first heard. The first FM stereo broadcasts begin in the United States under the authorization of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), beginning with radio stations WEFM in Chicago, Illinois and WGFM in Schenectady, New York.
Ha! I knew it -- the bastids snuck multiplex right in before I could even stop it!
That was why we all had to grow an extra ear and get them moved to the sides of our heads, leaving the human forehead the hideous blank it has been ever since.
