Not to pry, but do you even own a shotgun? It's sort of an informal civic thing. I disrecommend Western Field brand. But I do know where there's a Mossberg 20 GA. youth model that no one seems to want.
Good Lord, who doesn't own a shotgun? I have Dad's old Remington 870, which I changed to a shorter but plenty legal barrel.
It's a backup. I'm sold on the Tam Theory for bedside defense: large-cal, snubby revolver: good grip for the defender, poor grip for the attacker, small enough to maneuver at very close range.
