Interesting that Grissom is considered part of Peru, which technically is several miles farther up the road plus a jog east on 24...speaking of over the river and through the woods.
Whereas Bunker Hill, Indiana, is pretty much right across 31 to the east, almost close enough to spit and hit. And of course the base used to be called Bunker Hill NAS (later AFB) before it was renamed for the late Gus Grissom. I wonder how Peru got hold of it?
Aww, I hate being wrong. But yes, JohnW, they did make 2-seater A-10s back in the day, both as trainers and as night/inclement weather units (this was before improvements in IR technology).
Erin, AFAIK, they built one B model A-10, originally pitched as a type trainer. Republic tried to sell it for a number of other roles as well, including night and maritime strike roles, but there was only ever the one airframe built.
