I'm off to the dentist at 0MG700 this morning, so a long-form blog post is Right Out until maybe later. Oh, the price of fame and a childhood spent enjoying sugary snacks.
One quick note, the aerator on the kitchen sink failed; I asked Tam to pick up a new one at Winthrop Supply (motto: "Yeah, we've got that."). $1.67 and it's hugely better than the old one ever was! Best plumbing supply place in town and not too far to bicycle to. Made of Win. Also, they have a Store Cat.
Hope your day goes okay!
ReplyDeleteOkay so far -- trying to eat breakfast without biting my lip.
ReplyDeleteWe used to prank a guy we worked with who was having a lot of dental work done. He'd come in with his mouth still numb, and we'd constantly remind him that he was drooling, even when he wasn't.
ReplyDeleteYou like store cats? Check out Universal Radio.
I could never figure out why my lip always hurt after dental surgery, till I finally realized that I'd been biting my lip while it was numb...
ReplyDeleteDoesn't hurt to remove and backflush those aerators every once in a while
ReplyDeleteIt is at times like this, it helps to be able to drink something neat - that is at room temp.
ReplyDeleteMakers Mark (though they are watering it down now...)
MacCallan Cask Strength

Y'know, I am just about Temperance these days -- 'druther be so of my own volition than let the frikkin' prohibitionists force it on me. There's a move afoot to cut the DUI limit in Indiana in half again, achieving by degrees what the WCTU was unable to maintain by legislative force.
ReplyDeleteJC: I had been, I had been -- along with occasionally disassemble, removal of hard-water "rocks" and reassembly. But this time, the aerator literally blew out, spat the innards almost clean outta the shell, and when cleaned and reassembled, did it again. For a buck and three bits? I'll just replace. Life is too short for self-destructing faucets.
Wheelgun -- they are not watering Maker's. There was such an outcry when they made that announcement that they had to walk it back. It's still 90 proof.
