Edited to add: See, it's a joke, like? I wrote about books and writers, and people got wordy; I wrote about art and artists, and they sat there quietly picturing things. It's hard to type a painting; you can do it but it really calls for a monospaced font.

ReplyDeleteSorry to disappoint, but the Monday after Thanksgiving isn't my best day for art appreciation. That's the day I begin dreading the impending Christmas season.

ReplyDeleteGood one, Roberta, Better in some ways than Charles M. Russell (the Montana artist)on artists, "an Artist is the only thing you can say you is that nobody can say you ain't." Judging by what I've seen of a lot of NEA endowment recipients, that's even more true today than 100 years ago.

ReplyDeleteThe keep tellin' me how the rich are richer than ever. Maybe it's because most of them stopped patronizing Art? It certainly explains a lot about Art.
