Might As Well Shake The Old Sleighbells

     --To cover up the sound of me yelling.  Five inches of snow on the ground (and the roads) and more falling quicker than thought.

    Apparently, they foam the ice pellets on the way down and they expand at like 96:1, thus the large apparent accumulation.
