After a day and a half on the stuff, nearly all of it in bed, I'm better. Not a hundred percent, but enough better to see that I haven't been, not for some time.
(It's frustrating -- do I not catch these soon enough because my usual headache masks it, or are the two related?)
Anyway, on the mend again and hoping this time, it'll last.
I've taken Augmentin for a couple of sinus infections over the years. I like it. In my case, it worked like the Hammer of Thor on the infection.
ReplyDeleteMy fav med was mentioned in The Journal of Irreproducible Results:

Just thought you needed a chuckle!

I think they're related. I believe the infection inflames the sinuses. The resulting expansion of the sinuses puts pressure on the cranial cavity causing the headaches.
ReplyDeleteAugmenting is my med of choice for sinus infections also. I usually see marked improvement in 48 hours.
Constant headaches are a problem in themselves. Please do yourself a big favor and find out what is going on - could be serious - could be trivial.

Somehow I'm guessin that a trip to the Ft Wayne Hamfest is not on your schedule. Maybe next year.
ReplyDeleteFeel better soon (and concentrate on that. I empathize, missed Hamvention the first time in 20+ years due to long term crud)
Randy: It might be. I'd sure like to go. On the other hand, it's my only day off that weekend.
ReplyDeleteMerle: BTDT. Essentially trivial; manageable but not curable. And such a huge, drawn-out, frustrating mess that I hope you will forgive the unavoidable emotion that comes with any discussion of it. And even if the inner-ear problems are somehow exacerbated by it, there's not a darned thing that can be done.
Don't push it. Get well.
ReplyDeleteIf you do make it, my group is usually on 446.150 Simplex, 100Hz CTCSS. That or look for the fat old white dude with an HT ;-)
Even if you don't carry an HT, I'm sure someone there can let you make a quick call.
