Save Daylight, Save The World

Upset about having an hour taken from you while you slept?

For shame!  Daylight Savings Time serves the common good: the hours we all lost overnight are collected by a temporal co-op, then washed, combed and spun into skeins of time and given to poor children, who are paid a "fair-trade" wage to knit them into sweaters that will be donated to homeless veterans.

In Autumn,  the naturally-fallen homeless with be sustainably harvested, pressed and distilled to provide the extra hour that is freely redistributed to the people so we can set our clocks back.

So you see, it's all part of the Great Circle Of Organized Collective Life.

  5. Are these "naturally-fallen homeless" the ones who didn't get the sweaters?
Seems to me you need double summer time from the get go, to make more sweaters.

  6. It was explained to me that the hour we lost today actually went off to Bermuda for the Summer, when we could really use its services, and returns in the Autumn to stay with us through the Winter when it's so dark it really doesn't matter what time it is.

  7. A wise old Indian said, "I don't understand how White Man cuts a foot off top of blanket, sews it onto the bottom, and expects the blanket to be longer".

  9. Damn, & I thought the Men in Saffron (No Such Monastery, etc) were using it to patch things up.
    (sigh) Another treasured illusion destroyed.
Seriously, hope you feel better in the nearer future.

  10. Hey, I thought the foot of blanket was being cut off the bottom and sewn to the top. That makes a big difference, you know.

  11. I don't have a strong opinion one way or the other on DST, but I sometimes think it would be nice to be able to sleep in until sunrise more that 3 or 4 weeks out of the year. If I'm lucky I might retire before I die and be able to sleep in like that.
