Angles Of Attack

     Finished Angles of Attack yesterday.  Covers are too close together and it ends with many things resolved -- and a brand-new cliffhanger, albeit one he had foreshadowed.


     I'd kinda like to see a silent film made -- the "Lankies" are just about perfect for sepia-toned stop-motion -- but most everyone else wants talkies and full color these days.  You're in luck: the film Marko Kloos is showing in your head has that, too.

       Big, sprawling space-opera from a "there I was..." perspective.  You'll not find better on the "New SF" shelf.

    I've got it loaded, now I just need to get some time to read it. I loved the first two, now I'll be waiting somewhat patiently for the fourth.

    I liked it. As usual, it ended too soon and I wanted more. Marko hangs right in there with the big boys.

    Fun!

    Just finished devouring it myself.

    I do get a kick at how the protagonist is just about getting his ticket punched in as many commonwealth services as he can.

    I wouldn't be shocked if he had a hitch in the SRA in the next book.

    First - Thank you for opening comments back up.

    Second - Marko tells a good story and I'm eagerly waiting for the next installment. I don't want to leave any spoilers but I wasn't too surprised who the other good guys at the end were, Marko gave a hint in his short story last year. I found the tone change around the Lankies was a bit abrupt however.

    Tam: Huh, my mistake. For some reason I thought he had a stint in the SI too.

    Still going from HD to Fleet did make him an odd duck. (Just not as rare of a bird as I brain-farted for some reason).

    Two services but his 3rd job practically puts him in the another branch, so I can see how anyone could get confused.

    Sort of like a Navy Corpsman being attached to a Marine company...

    Haven't read AoA yet, but I went back and snagged Measures of Absolution to tide me over for a little. Hope we get to meet CPL Jackson again too.
