Years ago, at the railroad siding that's near Purdue University, two tank cars sat for a long time, with a boxcar linked after them. One tank car was stenciled, "Do Not Hump." The other was marked, "ABSOLUTELY Do Not Hump." After a month or so, some wag neatly graffitied the boxcar, "DON"T EVEN THINK ABOUT HUMPING!"
What surprises me is the decided *lack* of flex in that low-boy. I'd think that big ol' transformer would have the middle sagged nigh down to the ground...

ReplyDeleteI saw a pair of those transformers atop a railroad flatcar, all chained down and liberally festooned with stickers saying "DO NOT HUMP".
ReplyDeleteMy first reaction was "Well, I should say not! At least buy it dinner first!" but I knew I was missing the point.
Turns out "humping" is giving freight cars in railyards a shove with a donkey engine and letting them smack into the next car in line.
