Spiny Micrathena Pin-Ups

     I caught her checking an upper anchor point -- can't be too careful! -- and she was gracious enough to pose for me:
      From the side, her spiny abdomen is yellow-green with dark polka dots.
     From above, white with black spots.  Quite a fancy outfit!

    I'd like to get out there with a macro lens. I don't want to be a pest -- the spider acts a little fretful is I get too close. I had a look this afternoon. She had been waiting in the center of the web but when I knelt down to get a better look, she decided there was a spot along the top cable that wanted mending.
