Yesterday, after a morning at the Indiana Historical Radio Society winter meeting and a delicious lunch at Twenty Tap, I found myself feeling kind of tired. Out of sorts. A nap, I decided, would be just the thing.
Climbed into bed around 2:00 p.m. and other than necessity, I stayed in bed, asleep or almost so, until after 8:00 a.m. today.
I have not the least idea why. I might be nursing a kind of low-grade sinus or inner-ear infection; they sneak up on me and the difference in tone from the usual headache, etc. is difficult to perceive.
ReplyDeleteYears back, there was a spell where I worked some serious long hours at a rotating shift job. Like 70+ hours a week. The money *was* very nice, I was making lots and had no time to spend it, it was stacking up quite nicely.
That particular spell was 3rd shift to 1st double. Finally, the doubles ended. I got home at 3 in the afternoon and laid down for a nap.
Woke up at 10 pm feeling very refreshed. Only problem was, it wasn't a 7 hour nap.
It was a 31 hour nap. I had slept through the entire next day plus 7 hours.
I *think* my body was trying to tell me something. Listen to what your bod tells *you*.
*wink*
Nothing wrong with catching some extra z's... I find that the older I get, there is a proportionate increase in napping hours. Makes for a better-rested mind and more energy for daily projects.
ReplyDeleteDownside is that there is a linear convergence and eventually the naptime becomes permanent.
However, as long as the dreams are sweet, no problemo.
Sleep tight, Ms X!
