And In Sports News

     I'm told some not-really-local sportsball team named after a baby creature, a team widely followed hereabouts despite greater proximity to a different, red-legged sportsball franchise, has done something unusual by winning an end-of-season competition they had not won in 108 years.  Also, there's another thing about a goat, I'm not sure what -- perhaps they serve goat meat at the arena, or use them to crop the playing surface?  Anyway, I'd like to express my congratulation's to Chicago's Immature Animals, and to all of the Immature Animal sportsball fans!

     ...I hope all of you realize this comes at a cost, as it is A Sure Sign Of Doom and there's still a giant meteor hurtling in our general direction, possibly marked "C.O.D., Earth."

    It was a remarkable post season here in CLE. Congrats to the young bears. For the Tribe, what a ride. It will be a long time before we see a World Series game 7 like that again.

    Yeah, I watched the game. And, being a 'sports orphan', I've not watched a baseball game since the late 60's.
    My roomie is from Chicago...

    Now, if that SMOD gets here before Ms. Mussolini becomes president...

    Guffaw, take heart; Hillary Clinton has never won an election in a year when the Cubs won a World Series.

    I myself see the Cub's win as Today's Sign of the Apocalypse.

    A few years ago, Arnold Kling wrote Red Sox Technologies about electronic technologies that have proponents perpetually saying "Wait 'til next year!" Since then the Red Sox have won World Series and two of the technologies (E-book readers and social networking) have come into common use.

    It's clearly time for Cub technologies, industrial technologies that have proponents perpetually saying "Wait 'til next year!" So... Rev up your fusion-powered air cars!
