The Day After Christmas
It is, of course, Boxing Day, the day on which you glove up and fight anyone who still needs fought, now that we've all had a chance to wax nostalgic and make up. At least that's how I have always thought it was supposed to work.
Over here in the Uk it's the Boxing Day sales, where people spend hours in traffic jams to get to and from the shops where they can buy stuff they don't really need. Or go to a football match.
Does Boxing Day include throwing a Christmas Punch?
Here's hoping you and roomie had a Merry Xmas, Happy Hanukah, Serious Solstice, or whatever you celebrated. And wishes to you for a Happy New Year as well.

I thought it was about having fist fights in the Returns line at Wal-Mart. Guess I've been doing it wrong. ;)
ReplyDeleteI think it's just evolved into The Airing of Grievances rather than actual physical combat.
ReplyDeleteA shame that...
"Or go to a football match. "
ReplyDeleteIn Europe doesn't that usually involve the throwing of punches between fan groups? ;-)
Happy Boxing Day to all
