Vice-President Mike Pence got his vaccine shot on live TV this morning, which ought to be proof enough for the skeptical (and gives them a high-visibility public figure to watch for side effects as a bonus).
With that in mind, I can now safely predict that anything the Vice-President subsequently does to further rather than obstruct finalizing the Presidential election and the smooth transition from this Administration to the next will be ascribed by the kooky fringe to the controlling effects of the Bill Gates-George Soros microchips they believe are now swirling around in his bloodstream, no doubt operated by chemtrail-guided microwave commands.
Bobbi:
ReplyDeletePrepare to be bombarded by comments from the dingbats who will insist the VP didn't REALLY get immunized . . . it's all a plot etc etc etc . . .
Sigh.
I have had one comment that I "sure do talk about chips a lot" (three mentions since October, one earlier occurrence in 2009, a nasty Saudi thing) and saying I am "preoccupied with a fringe element."
ReplyDeleteThe problem is, it's a fringe element all over social media -- and with over a third of Americans saying they will not take the COVID-19 vaccine, it's a fringe element with a megaphone. I'm darned well going to mock them for it.
Predictably, the person who made the comment is, in fact, another flavor of far-right fringoid.
ReplyDeletePerhaps there's no room anymore for a centrist/libertarian blogger. It's certainly a PITA to come up with something semi-interesting every morning and I am increasingly doubtful of the utility of the effort.

ReplyDeleteFor what it’s worth, this daily reader, if terribly infrequent commenter, always appreciates what you have to say. Don’t always *agree* with it, mind...but your political posts get me thinking, and your cooking ones often make me try something a bit different in my own kitchen. Here’s wishing for peaceful holidays to you, Tam, and the kitties in a year that’s been woefully short on peace.
