Indy Meetup

Somehow I have been declared Social Secretary of the Indy Meetup; just ask Tam.

Okay. It'll be on a Sunday afternoon or evening; the Skunk Works has me workin' Saturdays tfn.

Where?
Our choices include Broad Ripple Brewpub, Binkleys and The Aristocrat. I'm open to suggestions.

  1. Um. ::hand up:: I'll show. Drive up from Cincy. I mean, if Breda can contemplate driving from CLEVEland...

  2. Do any of these places have WiFi? (Just so we can compare and improve our various residences.)

  5. I don't know the area, but I agree with Breda: the bewpub ::giggle-sic:: sounds like a great idea.

  6. My vote goes to the Aristocrat.

The Mrs and I are looking forward to meeting everyone!

Should we wear the cheesy "My name is.." tags?

  7. (hmm....as long as everyone is agreeing with me...)

I say we crown all the one-legged gunnie librarians Queen of the Universe!

I can fit that on a nametag, right?

Go for it! Just use a few tags if need be.

If you want a more authentic Irish pub feel, I say go for the Aristocrat. (The food is better than the Brew Pub. Worked at the Pub for about a while.)

  9. I vote for Brewpub, although I'm biased in the matter. Sunday evenings work pretty well for me as well; provided we don't stay out too late. My soulless corporate job requires my attendance on Monday mornings.

  10. I'm all about the Brew Pub of a lazy Sunday afternoon. (Although Friday or Saturday is equally fine with my unemployed self.)

  11. red - who has better beer, the Aristocrat or the brewpub?

  12. Since I won't be drinking it's of no concern to me who has the better beer, as long as I can get a decent coffee or glass of tea. But name a day, and I'll do the best I can to be there.

  13. Sorry, I can't make it.

  14. Sunday afternoon works best for me. Allows me to scurry home and get enough sleep to be in at the Patch Factory bright-eyed and bushy-tailed Monday morn.

The Brew Pub, no doubt! I don't drink and even I liked a few of their brews.

  16. I wonder if y'all would welcome those of us who regularly read all your blogs? I'm about 3 mi. from Broad Ripple and would like the chance to see and talk with all the folks.

  17. I don't know what the etiquitte is, but beseems me buying a round for the bloggers would take the sting out...? :)

  18. As a lurker, I'll buy the first round for the blogre (?)

  19. I checked with Tam; she says readers are welcome to show up and chides me for suggesting they buy a round. ( It was a joke! --I don't have a real dog in that fight: if the weather's at all good, I'll be on two wheels and thus not drinking).

  20. I'll go wherever... I think I'll be dragging /DN from the dosarmas.com blog along too...

But the weekend of 5/18 is RLY bad - there is a big Pekiti Tirsia seminar in ChiTown that we're both slated for...

Could we move it up a hair and try for the 5/11?
