Polo shirts, of course, do reflect a certain gentrification. Like official Casual Friday, or Senior Skip Day. Are "cigarette pockets" allowed, or just the buttons?
I have a Hawaiian shirt with WWII fighter aircraft amid the floral splendor - good for really casual Mai-Tai Fridays along with the Noveske hat that says, "Stops Jihad On Contact" embroidered on the back...
There's an interesting concept from the Damon Knight story. How it is possible to end violence without using violence against those who use violence? Gosh, now the good guys become the bad guys.
They do? Only if you believe that violence is bad in and of itself. If you believe that, you're a food animal. Or a hippie; but I repeat myself.
Knight's yarn is more than a little heavy-handed but it certainly points out the foolish vulnerability of a nonviolent society to anyone determined to work evil upon it. Personally, I'd rather live in a world where malefactors risk being shot in the act -- and, as happens, that is where I live.
Joanna, I'd bet you won't. You'll get eye surgery and false teeth. But at least you won't pay extra to wear a T-shirt from the eye surgeon and a baseball cap from the dentist.

It's like my reasons for not being a vegetarian: I have binocular vision and incisors. When those disappear, I'll quit eating meat.
