My iPod is empty and hasn't been turned on in a year or more. My Zune has a few songs on it but mostly it's books. None of the songs are embarassing, but some of the books might be considered a little odd...
If I had an iPod, the most embarassing song on it would be Little Bunny Foo Foo by the Moldy Peaches. It's pure garage. Amateur. I-know-three-chords-and-I-can-play. But the singer and the band seem so completely sure of themselves, totally enthusiastic and unaware of their amateur status. It's charming. But I hate getting caught listening to it. I am so not 15, and even when I was I wouldn't have admitted to liking it.
On the rare occasion I need to listen to music somewhere other than the car or house I'll just use an old CD Player or those really odd things called Minidiscs.
I don't own an iPod either and I'd like to smack the dogshit out of everyone that walks around wearing them damn earbuds and texting while they are supposedly trying to have a conversation with you.

Seconded.
ReplyDeleteAnd not likely to buy one.

ReplyDeleteFor folks like us, they mean, "What are the five most embarassing Victrola cylinders you own."
ReplyDeleteLike 'Yes We Have No Bananas'
No iPod here, either.
ReplyDeleteClosest I have to an iPod is a cell phone with an unused capability to store and play MP3s.
ReplyDeleteAnd Jovian, I own no Victrola cylinders!
Some other neglected media, yes, but none of those.
I have a little ZEN Stone Plus, but I only use it when working out at the gym.
ReplyDeleteWhat is this "eye pod?"

Yup, Same here and I don't plan on it.

ReplyDeleteJoe
Without an iPod, how does one mow the lawn?
ReplyDeleteI sit in the air-conditioned house and watch the wife mow the lawn. She's perfectly happy doing it once I bought her an iPod and a riding mower.
ReplyDeleteI also pay her $100 a month that I used to pay to the kid that only showed up when he took a notion and did a half ass job when he did show up.
:-)
