Bibbers Of Wine

I am pleased to report the Pen-Tailed Tree Shrew is in no danger of dieing out. Not a bit -- despite subsisting on a diet comprised mainly of the naturally-fermented equivalent of a dozen glasses of wine every day!

So much for Temperance.

(Naturalists claim the little creatures don't become intoxicated but how can they be sure? They've never seen one that doesn't drink heavily!)

  1. I can't tell, is this an Ann Coulter dis?

  2. If it's the naturally fermenting nectar of a palm, wouldn't it be the equivalent of arrack? (Which, BTW, being "neither grape nor grain" should be halal, along with mead and hard cider. Just thought I'd throw that in...)

  3. D.W., I did not know that arrack was halal.

Generally, arrack is distilled, palm wine isn't; or so my hasty reading of the other day seemed to say. (It started with WW II resistance on Mindanao...).
