I Shouldn't Drink

...Alcohol. I had one (1) Strongbow cider -- admittedly, a tall, tall can -- and enjoyed a nice little buzz through the BlogMeet. All faded by the time I bicycled home....where I laid down and fell asleep for the rest of the afternoon and evening. Could not keep my eyes open.

Lost half the day! So I'm thinkin' about goin' Temperance.

  1. Those ciders have a lot of alcohol in them, they'll knock ya on yer butt fer sure.

Wyder's used to make a peach cider. Tasted like soda pop and crept up behind you and whacked you on the back of your head after three or so.

  3. It`s not the alcohol, it`s the impurities that put you to sleep and give hangovers. At least, that`s what I used to tell people who asked why I usually drank decent (i.e. not clear or white} tequila, or 151 rum, when everyone else was having beer.

  4. Well, there is a difference between temperance and abstinence, and it has been proven that gurls get more drunk on less likker than boyz do.

Console yerself, Ma'am, with the knowledge that you can get the equivalent buzz to us boy-type folks with lots less alcohol. (cheaper)

If you keep yer wits about you, I reckon yer alcohol bill is less than that of the average XY person, for similar levels of drunkenness.

  5. Ah, memories...

I discovered Strongbow nearly two decades ago at an Irish pub in Heidelberg, Germany (owned and operated by an Irish family, catering mostly to GI's). The taste of Strongbow served on tap in a frosted mug is something you can never forget. Thankfully, you can at least get it in portable form around here. There's nothing like a cold one, or three, after mowing the yard.
