Yes, it's time! It's an Indy 1500 Gun Show weekend, too, just in time for:Broad Ripple Brew Pub, 842 E. 65th St., Indianapolis, IN 46220 (Not all that far from the intersection of Westfield and Westfield.)

Thanks to Tam for getting this one underway.

  1. I realize it's quite early, but is there any chance of a September gathering on Sunday, September 25?

I'll be in the area and would very much like to meet some of my favorite blog authors.

  2. If only you could get audio by the SUNDAY, SUNDAY, SUNDAY guy from all the truck pull commercials.

  3. IN !!! Is there a meetup plan for the Indy1500. Some of us are virgins to real gun shows (Alas, I live in Illinois), so we need someone to guide and be tender to us. (or at least help hold our drool cups).

  4. Scout: look for tall wimmen? Not a lot of guiding needed.

Rule is, find a safe wall and unload before you enter. Smile to the nice police officers, who will peacebond your sidearm or long gun with an orange tie-wrap.

The place will be crowded; we like to start at one end and walk the entire show. There is usually a little "greasy spoon" type diner in one of the back corners (most of the larger fair buildings have one) plus a small concession stand near the front.

You stroll around (or edge through, depending), lookit the kewl guns, books et shooty cetera and enjoy! --Usually some IL dealers there, too, so if you see something you really Must Have, some asking around will at least start off the IL FFL transfer process.

  5. Damn.
Alas, I shall be winging my way from Calgary to Denver that particular day... Otherwise I'd be there with bells on.
    Damn.

  6. Turns out the annoying tree in my backyard is full of apricots.

Odds are good, I'll be bringing some fresh and dried ones.
