Vermont--

Far-off, exotic Vermont! Home of Alphecca! Others may think of maple-sugaring; good firearms laws; or the actor in the bread commercial who tells us how they "remembah" a time before women could vote, a time when children could be whipped with a hickory switch when they failed to behave; or even Howard Dean, who plainly was not.

For me, it is enough to know that even though the Brookfield Floating Bridge is presently closed to auto traffic, America's premier spiderweb ranch is not far away. I doubt any other state in the union could boast of similar -- but I'd enjoy reading claims to the contrary.

  1. Vermont is also home to the American Precision Museum. Was kinda hoping to visit this Fall, but am afraid it'll have to wait until next year.
