Winter Wonderland: A Neo Paleolithic Christmas?

(It snowed last night, and the first, faint howls of the Yeti zombies were heard, hunting down from the north, reminding me of a simpler, happier, flea-bitten time.)

Shamans chant, are you listening
'Round the huts, snow is glistening
A wonderful sight
Though we're hungry tonight
Cavemen in a winter wonderland.

Gone away is the great sloth
Have to say, he's not much loss.
We hunt a new thing
That just makes us sing:
Mammoths in a winter wonderland.

In the meadow we can build a pit trap
And camouflage it like a patch of ground
He'll fall in when he's harried
We'll shout: Yeah, man!
'Cos now the giant beast
Is on the ground!

Caper and and grunt, by the fire
Bellies full, no joy higher.
We were unafraid;
On the monster we preyed
Hunting in a winter wonderland.

In the meadow we'll stack up a stone cairn
To mark the spot of our great renown.
We'll have good eats from the giant mammoth
And feed the scanty leavings to our hounds.

In the snow, there's no wanting
'Cos it's really great for hunting
Caper and grunt, join in the hunt
Mammoths in a winter wonderland.

  2. Now try telling those PETA Idiots that if it wasn't for Mammoth Hunting, they wouldn't be alive today to eat their Bean Sprouts!

  4. More Paleo- than Neolithic, no? Nothing about the miracle of how you stick a seed in the ground and something comes up. :)
