oh-dark-thirty on my boat, at anchor: I took the dog watch to let my crew sleep. Up reading. Inspired to cook bacon. The smell just woke up pretty much everyone. Amazing that when someone leaves a vent open and oil fumes from on deck wake people up they come out fussy. Bacon fumes wake them up, they happily come out to say hello and filch bacon.

Bacon is the _only_ non-explosive product that isn't a waste of good nitrates. :)
