Don't Ask Me, I Don't Know.

     Rest assured she is okay.

  1. I'm glad you're keeping an eye on her. You should probably help Ms. Lawrence pick a more secure password for her iCloud account.

  2. Glad to hear that! Sorry about the fallout from the nuclear option though.

  3. I quit reading her when she went on the SJW jihad against Brendan Eich. Only heard about this from that clown Borepatch.

She seemed increasingly upset that the people who pay her bills (and populate the RKBA movement) don't all run every one of their thoughts by her for approval before thinking them.

Poor princess. Personally I don't waste time arguing with women and children. They can't play by grownup rules and it's not fair to treat them as if they can. Conflict is hard to handle maturely.

But if you can't handle disagreement, stay out of the public debate.

  4. Well...I have a feeling that will be the Dissenting Minority Opinion. I guess some people have been reading a different blog than I have...

  5. Sad to say that jerks are everywhere.

    I'll miss reading her blog.

  6. I'm assuming the comments above have to do with Tam's lack of connectivity on the Porch? Got her this morning, 10:00pm Eastern no soap....

  7. I'll miss her, and I wish her all the best.

  8. I come to both you and Tam for knowledge and entertainment every day, and I have learned a boatload from you. "Shane, Come Back!" dang.

  9. No clue what happened. Not my business anyway. Hope to see her back soon. Brightens my day. Both of you, in fact.

  10. I'm going to miss reading her blog.

  11. Aw damn. One of my daily reads. I shall miss the snark and a parallel point of view I didn't always agree with could depend on to give me some rational alternative ways of looking at a situation.

Hopefully she'll restart someday after the batteries recharge.

In any case my thanks for all the free ice cream, regards and hopes for good luck on future endeavors.

  12. Annoyed at the cause, sad about the effect. If invitations are offered, would be honored to receive one. Either way, please pass on best wishes.

  13. Howdy,
New guy here since about 2009 to shooting more seriously.

Let Tam know all her wisdom and snark along with others in her sidebar did more to clear up so called expert advice I was getting and can't be the only one that benefited either. Tam's recent post about the uzi incident. I linked to it for a FB friend in Ireland for her to get a sensible understanding of what happened. Proper perspective and context helps protect the truth and Tam's voice is important in that regard.

My heartfelt gratitude for the work you have done,
    Jesse J in South Texas.

  14. Thank you very much for the update, ma'am. Know that you both are held in high regard. Thoughts and prayers coming your way.

Another lunatic from the dork enlightenment.

  16. Please pass along my heartfelt good wishes to her. I hope she returns someday, her blog, and yours, and a few others, have been an indelibly-scheduled part of my day and I'll miss her. I take comfort in the fact that she merely stepped away ... it means she could return. At least she didn't go out like Jeffro, the icon right next to hers in the folder. .:.

  17. As I said on facespace, Crap. Will miss her blog. Wish she'd at least keep the archives accessible, with comments turned off, and maybe look at self-publishing the better material.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Well, that sucks. It was obvious she wasn't feeling it lately, but didn't realize she was having that bad a time.

    ReplyDelete
  19. And thank you for letting us know! I was really worried until I remembered to check here.

  20. If Tam needs an Emergency Kitten, all she needs to do is say so.

  21. Anonymous coward at 9:43pm, 1 Sept: Piss right off, okay? You obviously have no idea what's at issue and you are *not* welcome at my blog -- not now, not ever.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Thanks for the update. Please let her know that she's in our thoughts and that her work was very much appreciated, personally & professionally. .

  23. Having no idea what happened nor any context at all the only thing I can think to say is:
    ;(

One of the pages I've read the longest and always looked forward to.

  24. Long time reader of Tam's and your blogs, hope she is able to filter out the BS and anon cowards and come back. Tell her she (and you) have a lot of fans out here in the heartland.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Please pass along my best. Whatever it is, I'm confident she'll deal with it and overcome.

  26. Do hope this is a mere temporary blip. Best wishes from me too and thanks Roberta.

  27. Bummed at the moment but appreciate the update and forum to vent a bit of my dismay.

Monitoring channels for any updates from VFTP C3I.

Until then I'm afraid dear lady you will have to carry the full load of keeping the world informed of the hijinks of the Huck and Rannie show.

Now off to see the latest on eggs.

  30. Thanks for letting us know she's okay. I read both your and her blogs daily, though comment rarely, and was worried. All the best to you both, not forgetting Huck and Rannie, and my hope that whatever is going on resolves itself in such a way that I can continue getting my VFTP fix. ;)

  31. Oh, dear. NOT the way to start my day. Is there a way to be placed on a waiting list? I'll open the bidding at 50 quatloos.

  32. Roberta, either of you need anything in my power, feel free to ask.

  33. Please giver her my best. And yourself, as well...

  35. Good to know that Tam is O.K.. I'll miss reading her Blog, and wish her the best in all her future endeavors.

  36. I wish you both well. I hope Tam comes back.

  37. It's my first blog stop in the morning. Yours is the second. Hope it gets better. I've been reading VFTP since 07at least that I can recall.

    ReplyDelete
  38. I've been a constant reader since 2008. We'll all miss her.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Glad to know she's OK. Don't know what happened...but hope she comes back soon.

    Thanks for letting us know.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Keep us advised Roberta.

Like a lot of the commenters here, yours and Tam's blog are the first ones I hit every day.

I may be going into snark withdrawal here shortly.

    Best to you both.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Whew...I was afraid it was just me

Not that it is all about me!

    Hope Tam is all good

  42. Roberta X, sorry to hear your roomie is stepping away....take her to the range - soon - for some
destressing, perspective and doing what she enjoys so much again. I will miss her blog, too.

I tell my wife "that lady up in Indiana today
said...." but won't be able to do so any more... Best
    to you....Redclay7 in NC

  43. @ Tam: I don't care WHAT you do, I'm still not watching cable.

Hope it all comes out aright. Best wishes, and all that fluffy stuff.

Oh, and hoist one for me, eh?

  44. Dear Tam

Thank you for all the wit and wisdom you have provided to me over the last few years. I hope you will always have happiness in the future.

  45. She doesn't owe us anything. Neither, for that matter, do you. She wants to step away...well, her call.

She'll be missed, though. I have no idea what triggered this (nor is it any of my damned business, if she doesn't feel like sharing with the world), but I do hope it's a temporary choice. If not...well...like I said, she'll be missed.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Well, CRAP!
VFTP has been my first stop online since I discovered it (link from Sebastion iirc) around '07.

I'm probably going to keep checking periodically until I lose hope.

I wish you all the best, Tam. You've been great.

    ReplyDelete
  47. I'm another daily reader

Tam: thanks for the years of interesting topics.
Ms X: thanks for the update
Both: you owe us nothing, if anything, WE owe YOU

I'll keep an eye out for your writing elsewhere (wait, I do that already) and wish you all the best.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Well, I'm not adding anything new here, but...

First, relieved to hear she is okay.

Tam, thank you for the blog. I discovered both you and Miss X earlier this year. It's always been a pleasure reading your work. I also vastly enjoyed "thumbing through" The Arms Room. Best to you and your endeavors.

Roberta, thank you for allowing readers to post on your blog about this.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Oh Damn the retards. Since I don't and never will Bookface I'm sorry for all the fish I'm missing - including the double-down dorkular endarkenment cliche-flingers.

    ReplyDelete
  50. But, but, but,...free ice cream!

Best wishes to Tam, thanks for everything you've done. I have enjoyed your blog for several years and will miss it deeply. I wish the best to you in all your endeavors, even if it is drinking coffee and reading in the morning with a cat on your lap.

    ReplyDelete
  51. VFTP was the first blog I had read. It is missed and I wish Tam the best.

    ReplyDelete
  52. First, sorry to clutter your comments section Roberta.

Second, I've evidently missed whatever happened, but I'm certainly sorry to see Tam go. Best wishes.

  53. I'm glad it wasn't ME! I saw that my address wasn't "invited" and thought I had transgressed.

But, I join the others in thanking Tam for all the entertaining & enlightening reading and in hoping for a comeback "someday".

    ReplyDelete
  54. I, too, will miss her.

I wanted to come to the last BlogMeet, but other events (and scheduling difficulties) intervened. So I didn't even email with a "wish I'd been able to come" line.

Like the wise men of a distant culture once said, "This, too, shall pass."

But the passing can be a sad thing.

    ReplyDelete
  55. I wish Tam the best, though I'm several hours away, if you guys need anything in my power to provide, consider it done.

    ReplyDelete
  56. I don't know why my favorite flavor of Free Ice Cream is now gone, but I'm contemplating offering to kill whoever is responsible for making Tam quit.

Not really, but I hate this. The internet has become a darker and less inviting place by a good proportion in her absence.

A light has gone out in my field of stars, and it was a big light. I don't comment much, but I read regularly, and I hate this.

Lord Bless, and you do what you have to do, but it's not something that I want to see happen.

Not to be too much on that, I read this Blog every day too. Y'all are both refreshing and inspiring to those of us out here in the rest of flyover country, and I hate to lose any of that.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Hang in there and take care, both o'you.

  58. Roberta X,
Thank you for opening these comments to us to post for Tam.

    Tam,
Thank you for sharing your time, talent and personality with me. I really enjoy and appreciate your thoughts and comments.

  59. Among Tam's readers are undoubtedly those with the skills to dox the cocksucker responsible for this. Among Tam's readers are undoubtedly also those who live nearby the perp who can use totally legal and completely non-violent methods to convince the shithead to buzz off and darken the porch no more.

    just saying.

  60. Bobbie, thanks for letting us know she's OK.
Please pass on that she's already missed, being a daily dose of in/sanity (choose one as applicable). I hope she comes back, but if not, thanks, Tam, for all the free ice cream, & for the words of support in a difficult time I had.
We've never met (I stopped by CCA several years ago, specifically to meet her & express my appreciation for the first blog I ever read & liked, but it was just after after she left), but I'll miss her all the same.
P.S. Damn! I'll never get to send her any pics of the yard full of wrecked semi trucks I saw near Waverly with "Keel Trucking Co." on the side, with appropriate comment. Oh well.

  62. I hope that Lady Tam will return. I still am offering to help migrate VFTP to WP so IP Blocking will be available. And I'm still trying to find someone in FL that can possibly counsel a certain individual without crossing the line.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Dang.

I'm glad it wasn't just me...when it asked for a "Google Account" I assumed I either had to A) open a Google account, or B) I had been banned. Not recalling anything I had commented on to merit being banned, I figured I was going to have to break down and open a Google email account...laugh all you want.

I'm sorry to see her go, View From the Porch has been one of my favorite places to go on the Intertubes. Thanks for the update. Also, tell her thanks for opening up the place for perusal so I can at least refer to older articles...and The Fun Show Song!

    Andrew, "Pakkinpoppa".

  64. Only heard about this from that clown Borepatch.

If you're in the business of referring to one of the smartest writers I know as a "clown", then possibly it enlightens other readers as to your own mental and intellectual state.

One can say many things about Borepatch, but "clown" is not one of them.
