Mom

My mother is once again in the hospital.  Been there several days and when she gets out, it will be to a place with better nursing support and, I am sorry to say, much smaller rooms.

Where she has been living simply hasn't sufficient staff to give her the level of care she needs.  They had trouble remembering to change her breathing mask at bedtime and back again in the morning, and it is just too fiddly for Mom to do on her own.  This has contributed to her recent hospitalization and thus to the choice to move her.

It's not an easy choice for any of us.

  3. Hang in there Ms. X... thoughts vibes, good wishes and compassion headed your way. Went through this with my wife's mom. Can't give any good advice but to give her your love and endure as best you can.

  5. Last time I was in the hospital, I got the smallest room on the floor. It sure seemed cramped. A week later, I couldn't come up with a reason to have a larger room. When you're on your back almost 24 hours a day, floor space becomes remarkably unimportant.
Of course I didn't have many visitors.
