In Memory

Here's my family in Christmas time, 2016, I think the last time we were all together until just last week.
Today is my Mom's funeral service.  At least it's a pretty, sunny day.  She would have liked that.

  1. I hope you hold up thru the day.
I know it won't be easy.

  2. I'm so sorry for your loss. I know all too well what you have been and are going through. Lost my mom last July. Several years of hospitals, nursing facilities, home care, the works. It will ease up after you get through today, but unfortunately there will be those times when you think "I've got to tell mom " and then you realize you can't. That is when you just shake your head and remember a good thought about her. That's the only way I've managed it.

  4. I know it's hard to believe now, but the grief will diminish and the happier memories will prevail. It's been 11 years since my dad passed and I still miss him, but what I remember most are the good times.

  5. As others have said, remember the good times and also that the healing is a long process.

  7. Prayers sent.

I lost my 51 year old brother last month. I should have been a wreck. I have no explanation for the peace I felt other than it was a gift of the Holy Spirit. Surely, it was nothing I "deserved". I suspect it was the prayers of those who knew.
