Factions

     Yet again, a writer friend is deploring the divisiveness and factionalism in science fiction, especially at conventions.

     It's nothing new.  It goes back to the first WorldCon.  And it has always been a game that can only be lost.

  3. The cynical side of me says, "why should sci-fi cons be different from any other area of human endeavor these days?" We're all the dang Kilkenny Cats, these days.

  4. Fillyjonk, "these days" would need to extend back to 1939 for that to make sense.
