'Tis The Season
(Or is that "Sleazeon?" I always get them confused). Whichever, I have, unusually enough, guests slated for Soon and a lot to do; so I'll be witty some tomorrow, okay?
--H'mmm, iron the guest towels with or without starch? Oh dear oh dear!
...And the starch was way more populr in the form of fried potatos!
Here, Doc, Turk, Tam, Phlegmmy, try this (but not every morning):
In a 12" or larger frying-pan type implement, brown about 2/3 of a standard tube of breakfast sausage and set aside. Cut one baking potato and 3 or 4 large portabello muhshroom caps into 1/4" cubes and fry in the (rather scant) grease (add oil if needed, use something with a decent flavor). Sprinkle with cajun seasoning if desired. When the potatoes seem brown enough, push to the edges of the skillet or wok and scramble four eggs in the center over high heat, strirring constantly with a chopstick or wooden spoon. Once the eggs are done to suit you (varies), stire the potatoe and mushrooms back in and add the sausage earlier set aside. Serve topped with diced red sweet peppers, slices olives of any sort, and/or chopped cheese and chives (or whatever). Hot sauce on the side.
Feed enough of that to a guest and they're grateful enough to overlook your thrift-store towels. At least so far. :)

In my house, that would read "find guest towels at bottom of laundry basket (clean!); unwad."
ReplyDeleteSo you're the other person who lives here! ;)
ReplyDeleteNo habla "Guest Towels".
ReplyDeleteStarch'em crackly :)
ReplyDeleteMy "guest towels" have a picture of a lumberjack on the package.
ReplyDelete...But they're okay... :)
ReplyDeleteAs it turns out, I don't have guest towels per se, either. Just clean ones (ooooo! Who knew?). Guest has not complained.
