Yes, now I have two S&W revolvers -- the lovely pre-18 .22, and this:
"Right in your wheelhouse," she said, and she was right: a 1920s, nickle-plated .38 M&P, Model of 1905, 4th change (it says right here). The very thing for discouraging ruffians! And a little less quirky than the .380/200 Enfield revolver for that purpose.
Aw, that's a nice one. I love that knurling on the ejector. That alone gets me smiling.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations!
ReplyDeleteVERY cool!

Nice! Enjoy it. There is an elegant refinement to that design.
ReplyDeleteWe had a rough C. 1912 re-blued variant with a 4"bbl and round butt grip with very *worn* gutta percha S & W grips mounted. I wish it were still here. Best trigger I have ever felt on any revolver, and I include Colt Pythons, Pre-war S & W kit guns, and Korths.
Dang it! I just got my Envy-ometer® out of the shop and you've smoked it again.
ReplyDeleteVery nice! These Smith thingies might catch on after all! *ducks* =)
ReplyDeleteVery Nice! In good shape mechanically, I hope. I have one of its much later brethren, made about 1982 and spend most of its life as a Victoria state (Australia) police pistol. Has the bull barrel, though. Revolvers, esp. with a history, are just soo cool!.
ReplyDeleteI have two. A vintage K-38 and a brand-new Model 17 Masterpiece. Wonderful guns. Smith knows how to build a wheelgun.
ReplyDeleteThat's right pretty.
ReplyDeleteWhere's the "like" button on this confounded page? :-)
