Today, I'm working to embrace the thought that as bad as I think things are, they could be a great deal worse. While I'm apprehensive about the future, the present is not really all that bad -- and for that, I am thankful indeed.
Tam's away today, working, though she hopes to stop by for the holiday meal. It's getting to be time to start the turducken. Bacon gravy and roasted vegetables will accompany the nested birds and their sausage stuffing. (I don't do a whole turducken -- maybe someday! -- just a smaller subset, a kind of turducken roll, better suited to two people and a few days of leftovers.)

We had a small ham glazed with honey and a mix of walnut and maple syrup, and a small turkey roll, with mashed potatoes and green beans. Very yummy, but just before dinner time, the Call came...power outage at the studio, due to a 13kV line burning through a block up the street. We were on generator for a minute or two, and we had no on-air issues, but there was some carnage: one dead UPS that killed two storage arrays, a KP32 power supply, a computer monitor at the A1 position, and the HVAC cold deck fan VFD that needed reset. I am thankful for microwave ovens to reheat the dinner that cooled off. :)
