Gosh, Last Night Was Fun...Not

You've had a cold (unless you're some kinda supder-duper being, in which case no description would suffice), so I won't go into details -- couldn't sleep laying down, barely slept sitting up, awake every few hours, etc. etc.

Feeling a little better this morning but not much.  Planning to follow my normal workday routine and see how I feel once I'm ready for work.  A nice hot shower can only help!

ETA: Or not.  Big temperature spike, etc.  I'm going back to bed.

I've had a pretty hefty case of bronchitis in the past, and ever since any upper respiratory thing I catch really kicks my rear. Because of that, I have been trying to figure out a good way of actually getting some sleep while sitting up. In my case, leaning back while being (mostly) sitting up doesn't seem to do much better than just lying down (and hacking all night).

So far I haven't figured it out. When I'm well there isn't anything pushing me to work on the issue. When I'm sick, I have sat up in bed many a night trying to figure it out. Hint, for me, a pile of pillows didn't work... never enough pillows.

I have dealt with various respiratory issues all my life so can sympathize with the sleeping down-inclined-up trilemma.

The wedges sold by various bedding companies are either the wrong angle or too soft/hard to be comfy. I use four pillows nightly, three somewhat flatties and one fluffy, the fluffy being set up on top at a near-90 degree angle. Sleep normally follows quickly.

At some point during the night I shove off or discard the top pillow, and let the other three do the job.

Hard on the neck but it works for me, YMMV, various lawyer text, etc.

Hang in there lady,

As was said earlier, hank in there.

The silver lining of needing to use a CPAP is that between the air pressure and the built in humidifier (and possibly the filter) my incidences of bronchitis have gone down and when I do have it I can still sleep.

Of course, once I get up and take off the mask, my body makes up for lost time in the morning...
