Knock Wood?

I worked Easter Sunday and I was still in bad shape.  The early-morning weekend shifts are as close to "fireman" coverage as we get and no major items of geekery-for-profit failed, so I kept myself busy in the Engineering shop and muddled through.

I have higher hopes for today.  I slept more than twelve hours, I'm enjoying a healthy breakfast and I don't feel just awful.  It's enough, right?

     Better be!

I bet you have a mild flu and not a run-of-the-mill head cold.

I've been lucky and have only had a nasty flu maybe once every 10 years or so.

One I had in my mid-twenties was the sickest I've ever been, the doc explained the healthier you are, the harder it slams you. In bed one whole week, and when I finally dragged myself out of it, was completely exhausted. For the next stinking *month* I was perpetually exhausted, as in, I could kinda work, but ended up sleeping 12 hours a day during that month, but still not feeling rested.

So, the upside is, the older we get, the less flu bugs should hit us.

Wonderful news for us the next 30-40 years and the dirt-nap that follows.

Yea! (not)
