Where'd Monday Go?

Time doesn't stop just 'cos I am reading? Hmpf!

"Tires a-squeal
Like they're skidding
Rain to ice, now it's glist'ning
Don't want to know
If it's turned to snow
Looks like it is Winter in the land..."

Rained and snowed overnight. Snowed this morning. Stopped while I worked. Started up again prior to my drive home, came down pretty well while I bought dinner, stopped so I could sweep the walks (cold enough that it's powder, at least), then started up again. I haven't looked for awhile, iis it.... Nope. Whew! Just colder'n, ahem, than it should be.

And on that note, dear friends, I shall check the dryer (warm nightgown, oooooo!), flip the quilt back and turn in. "Turn down, turn in, doze off." Right?

I'd give a lot for a snow day right now....

I usually come to work anyway. I have a 4x4 and live close, 10-15 minutes on a normal day.

Snow day..... the school is almost empty. Can get all kinds of work done. Maybe play with a snow plow or a skid loader a while.
Makes a fun day!

In case you can't tell, Carteach0 would give a lot for a snow day right now.

I mean a lot.

Hey... I SAID oops, didn't I?

My mantle of perfection is slipping..... Uh oh...

Aha! "Mantle!" Admit it: you're an octopode, 'Teach.

...That explains the double-posting, too: tentatcular tanglage!

Verification word: fzdmdwbw. More like a sneeze.

Roberta... I'm not exactly sure what you just called me.

I think it means I would be tasty when breaded and deep fried, with a dipping sauce.

Well, as long as you're of good family!

"Octopode" is the proper plural. Nobody uses it. Not even them. :) But they do have mantles! Siphons, too. Darned critters are just almost a cottage.

Snow sounds so lovely and quaint to me. I get so sick of sunshine and low levels of precip. You northerners don't know how nice you've got it. Of course, along with snowy mornings, I'd want the liberty to have a lie-in whenever I chose. I suppose no life is perfect...

"Gee," she said, "I wish I had a nice broken leg like you. That must be sooooo much fun..." ;)

I like to look at snow. Cold and I do not get along at all. Between the Winters my car slid off or acted up when I was young and poor and had to hoof it a few miles to the nearest phone, and then several years "temporarily" doing live-on-the-scene stuff weekend for the Big Media Company, I've had enough near-frostbite to my fingers and toes that they plain hurt it they get cold. No thanks!

...The turning of the seasons is so heart-stoppingly pretty that it makes up for a few cold months, at least so far.

Count your blessings! Say, is it true in the Summer, Texans have to remember to leave a car window barely open when paking in the sun, lest the air inside get so overheated and pressurized that the front window gets blown out? Now that's some weather!
