The stuff sucks for sure, especially if it's not detected early. It's an insidious affliction.
I would advise everyone to get the "puff of air" test done routinely as soon as they're old enough to sit still.
Fortunately there are a lot of marvelous glaucoma meds on the market right now. Not cheap, but they work reasonably well with few side effects. For instance, I have been on Lumigan for over 10 years now and I have the longest, lushest, darkest and dare I say, prettiest, eyelashes in existence. I joke with my wife that it's my "Maybelline Medicine."
Life ain't fair but at least we had capitalism long enough in this country to develop these fantastic drugs.
With the heavy hand of .gov looming over it all, I strongly suspect innovation and development of new classes of drugs to slow down greatly. But hey! We cut the cost of health care!?!? I think?
Thanks for the head's up!
