Off To The Bank
I have got to go talk to the bank about some financial stuff. Nothing bad, just some loose ends left from sorting out Mom's estate. Looks like I won't be getting the gold-plated Rolls-Royce, but it never got good mileage after the plating anyway.
Odd about the mileage fall off. Depending on the thickness of plating, I would think the weight change would be less than a couple of passengers and a tank of fuel. I would have thought that the gold layer would have been slippy (slip-er-re-er?) and there should have been a mileage gain in overall streamlining. I wonder if anyone has really studied this? More seriously, and in the case of aging relatives, getting paperwork squared away for the inevitable future has been an uphill climb.

Maybe the study was done with a layer of bronze? https://www.imcdb.org/i105206.jpg :)
I wouldn't think mileage would be a big concern for the typical gold-plated Rolls-Royce owner.
Har de har har har!
Yeah. We all had to chip in to bury my dad. So much for the inheritance. Still, all in all, I miss him sometimes.
