Yep, my first thought was apartments...
A beautifully designed and executed artifact from 90 years ago.
The iStove
That is way cool
AND it's easier to clean under than an ordinary stove!
For some reason I expected the brand name at the top to be in Cyrillic.
That looks remarkably practical, and I say that as a cook who dislike electric stoves.
Speaking as one who has done time in small apartments from time to time, I'm not sure not having the oven tucked under the rangetop is a more efficient use of space than the more prosaic compact range/ovens available now, but it sure as heck is superior in design aesthetic.
